EXPERIENCE OVERVIEW
The Fuego Volcano Sunset Hike is a 3–5 hour roundtrip adventure that departs from NOMA Basecamp in the late afternoon. The trail winds across volcanic terrain with panoramic views and steep drops challenging but achievable for guests in good condition.
You’ll hike with experienced local guides, cross sacred land, and reach one of the most powerful volcanic viewpoints in Central America.
The add-on is ideal for hikers who are active and comfortable with high-altitude hiking.

ITINERARY
Please note: all times are approximate and can vary significantly depending on weather conditions, trail status, and the physical condition of each guest.
⟶ 4:00–4:30 p.m. – Depart NOMA Basecamp after rest or lunch
◬ 1.5–2 hour ascent across volcanic ridgelines
✧ Sunset at Fuego viewpoint – time for photos, rest, and hot chocolate.
◬ 1.5–2 hour descent with headlamps back to Basecamp
✦ Dinner served at camp after your return

The Fuego Volcano Sunset Hike is a high-altitude, challenging experience. While no technical skills are needed, guests must be in good physical condition.
